Rules
There are 24 races and only 22 drivers - at the end of the season, you’ll have selected each driver (and scored their points) once.- Updates for Cancelled Races
- With the cancellations of the races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, there will now be 22 races (and 22 drivers). To avoid removing mulligans as a strategic decision, you will instead only need to select 20 of the 22 drivers. With the original schedule, if you decided not to use one or more of your mulligans during the season, you would end up making a No Pick for some races. With the shortened schedule, we've decided to allow you select a 21st or 22nd driver without forfeiting mulligan points instead of a 'No Pick', but you will still only score your top 20 driver scores of the season.
- Example: You make no mulligan picks and select all 22 drivers over 22 races, you will score the 12 unused mulligan points plus your best 20 driver finishes.
- Example: You mulligan one week and select 21 drivers, you will score 8 unused mulligan points plus your best 20 driver finishes.
- In the event that F1 reschedules the races or cancels more races, then the number of scored drivers will increase or decrease appropriately.
- Each week, you'll perform one of the following actions:
- Choose a driver you have not previously selected.
- Use 1 of your 2 mulligans to reuse a driver (see Mulligan instructions below).
- Opt to not pick a driver. [DEFAULT]
- This will most likely be a late season strategy if you don't have a driver you want to use a mulligan on.
- Mulligans
- Every player will have 2 mulligans that they can use throughout the season to erase a score and reuse a driver.
- Everyone will start the season with 12 points and it will cost points to use a mulligan, going up in price each time (see below).
- 1st Mulligan: -4 points
- 2nd Mulligan: -8 points
- You can use a mulligan for any driver previously selected in the past, but you must reuse that driver seat for the current week.
- Example: It's week 10, and I want to get rid of my LeClerc 16th place finish from week 2. I use my mulligan which erases my LeClerc score from week 2 and submits him for week 10.
- The mulligan applies to the driver seat.
- Example: You choose Hamilton for week 14 and he DNFs. Week 15 comes around and Ferrari decides to demote Hamilton and promote Zhou [Ferrari's’s alternate driver] to his seat. You could mulligan your Hamilton DNF for Zhou in any subsequent week because they are both in Ferrari's second seat.
- There are no other restrictions on how mulligans can be used.
- Example: You can use all 2 mulligans on the same driver.
- If drivers are switched at any point in the season, your picks are limited by the constructor seats.
- Example: If you have already picked LeClerc and Hamilton on Ferrari, and Giovinazzi [Ferrari's’s alternate driver] subs into LeClerc's seat for a race, you cannot select Giovinazzi unless you use a mulligan.
- You earn points based on the official F1 final position on race day of the driver you selected that week.
- Points will not be awarded for sprint races, fastest lap, or for any DNS/DSQ/DNF/etc results.
- Your point total at the end of the season will determine your place in the standings.
- Tiebreaker for any place will be the most P1 finishes selected. If that doesn't break it, we'll go to P2 and so on until the tie is broken.
- Picks are due one minute before the official race time (e.g. if race time is 8:00AM ET, picks are due at 7:59AM ET).
- If you submit multiple times for the week, your last submission before the deadline will be accepted.
- One pick reminder email will be sent to everyone on the day before race day, once the final race day positions are posted (this will usually be a Saturday).
- 1st place: $1050
- 2nd place: $425
- 3rd place: $150
- 4th-5th place: $50
- 6th-8th place: $25
